Follow Me movie SF premiere at MissionWorkshop

Baraka meets down hill mountain biking. Slow pans, epic scenery and hucking the gnar. Follow Me is a new DH film shot in high-def with big name riders. Shown Saturday night by SF Dirt Lab at MissionWorkshop. SF DIRTLAB is a dirt rider organization that brings events to the City in efforts to pump the local MTB scene. MissionWorkshop is a San Francisco bicycle bag company making high-volume low-footprint back packs. Overall a fun event, a $10 entry got you free food and movie and $3 more got you tasty dark beer from Oakland (forgot the brewery, any help?). Here is your taste of bootleged still shots of follow me.

Hunters Point Shipyard Artists

Painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, drawing, ceramics, fiberarts, jewelry, and much more. 19th annual spring open studio and sale. This was an interesting event. I rolled out on the bicycle and found my self in the greater hunters point area. Found was a large collection of artists and fabricators "doing". Some "doing", in my point of view, better than others. This is a small group of photos I took on tour. May I add, that in nearly every studio there was a cheese platter, baked goods, and wine? Score.

Hot Glass, Cold Beer

Photos from "Hot Glass, Cold Beer". Every first Saturday of the month Public Glass puts on this really fun event. Roll up to the front table pick out a hand blown vessel of your choice for $25 and enjoy complimentary beer and wine! There are mind blowing glass demos accompanied by live music that goes on from 6-10. I am coming early next time. Beer is good, glass blowing is awesome! Featured artist of the month at Public Glass is Randy Strong.

Sketch Tuesday Photos

Photo's from April 20th Sketch Tuesday @Minna. I finally made it down to a sketch Tueday last night, and got to drink beer while I watched a bunch of talented artists sell quality work for killer bargain prices. Met a ton of nice people, walked away with some artwork and had fantastic time. pretty busy guy. Didn't walk away with a Jay Howell piece last night, but I hope to soon. Jay Howell portrait by Ferris Plock Really good prices.

Walked away proud owner of this deer by Justin Lovato and the Burger and a Hot Dog from Ferris Plock. Seriously one of the best nights I've had in SF.

The Tenderloin Project show @Medicine Agency

Photos from Sean Desmond's photo show 4/9/10

This past friday I attended The Tenderloin Project show, by photographer Sean Desmond. After stumbling onto this project a year ago at their website launch, I was pleased to see the amount of work that has happened over the past year. Really great photography and project for a great cause.

this time around local artists contributed. Some Mike Giant awesomeness.

other favorite

dozens of these silkscreens were plastered to one of the walls as part of the display. Very impressive.

This video does a great job showing some of the collaboration with the tenderloin neighborhood. Be sure to check out their website for more information about the project.

Ride for Red Silk Screen

Some silkscreens that I made with Tom Roe, for  "Ride for Red," a benefit art show for AIDS life cycle, happening this Thursday @ Space Gallery on Polk St from 6:00–10:30pm. Designs inspired by photographs from personal bike rides. There will only be 8 of each print available, so if you can, please come by and check out a lot of great work, at a great gallery, for an even greater cause.
